Comprehensive Survey of Earth Observation and Geospatial & Allied technologies private sector in Africa.
The purpose of the study was to facilitate and inform the strategic interventions for EO industrial participation in Africa’s sustainable development as articulated in the African Space Policy and Strategy. The Study will help the continent through the African Union Commission, African Space Agency and other relevant institutions and programmes to derive and pursue realistic pathways anchored on facts and figures in the quest for a strong and thriving EO and geospatial; allied technologies private sector that will deliver products, services, solutions and innovations that contribute to the achievement of the aspirations of national, regional, continental and global blueprints.
The study was focused on EO industry in Africa with the specific policy goals stated in the African Space Policy, namely: Creating an EO industrial capability; Promoting public-private partnerships with respect to EO; Promoting EO R&D-led industrial development; and Using indigenous EO technologies, products and services.
